  • Music stand supports open lid
  • Casewoods are the customers choice but I would suggest elm. oak, cherry, walnut, beech (these timbers vary very much in price and will affect the cost of the finished instrument)
  • Casework is 1.2 cm thick with upper mouldings
  • Stressed top surfaces and wrest planks are beech
  • Sub structures are pine or fir basically in three layers of base frame, base board and a massive upper brace bar, hitch rails and a balance rail
  • Keyboard is of lime
  • Surfaces can be chosen by the customer but common surfaces are African Blackwood for the long and yew for the short keys
  • The Keys are undercut and no balance weights are used
  • The tangents are of sheet brass
  • Balance pins are threaded brass
  • Keytail guide pins are threaded brass
  • Keytail bearings are leather
  • Strings are iron in the treble, brass in midrange and overspun brass in bass
  • Pitch preferably old, but can take modern
